James Ashfield is an award-winning Theatre Producer. He has produced theatre in subsidised theatres across the UK, at the Edinburgh Festival and on tour. He was Producer for the UK Theatre Award winning Swim, Aunty, Swim! and was Assistant Producer on the Olivier Award Winning Standing at the Sky's Edge, which was most recently seen wowing audiences in London's West End.

 

James is currently the Producer for the UK’s first in-house New Musical Theatre department at Birmingham Hippodrome, developing, commissioning and producing new musicals on Hippodrome stages and beyond. Prior to this he was the Producer at Coventry's Belgrade Theatre. 

 

He has produced and developed a number of musicals and plays by artists including Chris Bush, Corey Campbell, Richard Hawley, Daniel Raggett, Rob Hastie, Anthony Lau, Laura Keefe, Sarah Tipple, Paul Foster, Elin Schofield, Charlotte Bennett, Iain Lauchlan, Kelly Jones, Casey Bailey, Madeleine Kludje, Gail Babb and Michael Buffong.
